Christmas at Penrose Court

Resident with Santa

Christmas was a magical time here at Penrose Court Care Home.

Whilst some Christmas plans had to be revisited due to changing guidelines and an unfortunate timed lockdown in the home, we still continued to make it a memorable celebration.

We packed the festive season with fun, we learnt about Christmas traditions around the world, had indoor snowball fights, made our own Christmas baubles, and visited the local craft shop to paint our own Christmas presents. We enjoyed the Dementia UK Christmas carol service which was made more enjoyable by the addition of mulled wine and mince pies.

Christmas day itself started with a surprise visit for the residents from our own Santa Claus delivering gifts. After breakfast, we had a short Christmas Carol Service with some fabulous singing by the residents. The morning was concluded with a fantastic three-course meal that left little room in the afternoon for much but a nap and the Queen's speech. All in all, it was a lovely time of making memories.
