A Seaside Day In The Garden At Penrose

Residents at Penrose Care Home in Biggleswade enjoyed a fantastic seaside-themed day in the garden, bringing some classic summer fun to the home with fish and chips, ice creams, traditional games, music and some very special visitors.

The garden was transformed into a fun-filled setting for the occasion, with residents able to enjoy the atmosphere from the comfort of their own home. Fish and chips were served up for everyone, followed by ice creams for a proper taste of a traditional day by the seaside.

There were plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the afternoon too. Residents got involved with a game of hook the duck and had a go at the coconut shy, with both providing plenty of fun and friendly competition.

Music helped add to the atmosphere, with residents enjoying a selection of songs while spending time together in the sunshine. There was a relaxed and sociable feel to the afternoon, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the entertainment, have a chat and make the most of the garden.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was a visit from some very special four-legged guests. Shetland ponies came along to meet the residents, giving everyone the opportunity to get up close and spend some time with them. Their visit proved particularly popular, with plenty of smiles and conversation as residents enjoyed having the ponies in the garden.

Bringing together familiar seaside treats, traditional games, music and animal visitors made for a lovely afternoon at Penrose. It was a chance for residents to enjoy a different experience, spend time with others and create some happy summer memories without needing to travel far from home.
