A Harvest Service and Fantastic Food Donation
Penrose Court Care Home recently celebrated Harvest Festival with a service and generous food donation.
Harvest Festival is an event that aims to celebrate the successful collection of the year's crops. It is an event that is traditionally celebrated by churches and schools, as they encourage others to donate food of all kinds to those in need.
This year, we celebrated Harvest with a special service, conducted by Chaplin Rosemary Bentley. The services spoke about appreciation of being able to grow and reap crops, as well as being thankful for the food we feast on.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have also been inviting residents, relatives, and staff to donate a variety of dried and tinned foods.
We are absolutely delighted with the kindness and generosity of those closest to us at Penrose Court Care Home, who have kindly donated so many wonderful goods which have been donated to a food bank orgnanised by local organisation, Preen.
At Penrose Court, we are dedicated members of the community and we work hard to ensure our residents participate in as many local events as possible. It is a great opportunity for residents to meet new people and try new things, and we all very much enjoy being able to give back to our community.
