A Successful Macmillan Coffee Morning
At Penrose Court Care Home in Biggleswade, we very much enjoy both raising money for charity and indulging in a good slice of cake.
On the 27th of September, we had a very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning, attended by residents, families, and staff. It was a great opportunity for us all to get together to enjoy coffee, cake and conversation.
As an initiative that has been around for many years, Macmillan Coffee Mornings allow people to host their very own coffee morning, or other delicious get-together, with the aim to raise funds to help beat cancer.
At Penrose Court, our residents and staff love all things sweet, so there were many delighted faces when we put on a spread containing victoria sponges, chocolate cakes of all kinds, Viennese whirls, and much more. Everyone was even happier when we realised we had raised £132 for Macmillan.
Both staff and residents at our care home are incredibly passionate about raising money for charities close to our hearts, as well as being active members of our local community in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
Our activities coordinators work hard to create an activities programme that is varied, inclusive and accessible to all residents. We take pride in providing residents with opportunities to meet new people, pursue hobbies, or just continue doing the things they have always loved to do.
Hosting coffee mornings for our residents and local community is just one of the fantastic ways we can achieve this, all whilst raising money for a worthy cause too.
