The Great Escape

At Penrose Court Care Home, we're always looking for ways to provide opportunities for our residents, to ensure that they have the best time, through an activities programme that supports our residents interests. The most recent being a trip to Cineworld cinema in St Neots to see a familiar favourite "The Great Escape".

We turned to our local "talk of the town" bus, with a volunteer driver for a number of our residents and their relatives to go to the local cinema for a viewing of the classic film.

We were able to hire the cinema for the afternoon so our residents could have an enjoyable experience, for an evening filled with popcorn, drinks, and chocolate to enjoy through the film. All of our residents, relatives and staff in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality shown by the Cineworld staff, who hosted a great evening for all.

This opportunity came to pass when one of our residents said they wanted to go and see a movie in the cinema. And what an enjoyable event it was. We are delighted to have made this happen for our residents so that they could enjoy an afternoon and evening of cinema fun with their families.

We'd like to send a massive thank you to the staff at Cineworld, St Neots, for the great hospitality and will be planning another trip to the cinema in the near future.

Our activities team at Penrose Court Care Home, are always encouraging residents to suggest ideas of what they'd like to do, to fit in with their hobbies and interests, and are always doing a stellar job at bringing these to life.

"Escaping" the home this month has definitely ensured a happy and healthy environment here at Penrose Court Care Home.
