Supporting our Residents to Thrive

At Penrose Court Care Home, our main mission is to support our residents with not only their medical needs but their overall wellbeing needs too. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of care to residents as well as offering them opportunities to live a rich and fulfilling lifestyle, no matter what challenges they face.

We love to welcome residents and their families to our community at Penrose Court, but one thing we love more is when we see our residents thrive with us. That's why our team was delighted to recently hear from one of our nursing resident's husbands about how Penrose Court has completely transformed his wife's quality of life.

Ian and his wife Angela came to Penrose Court earlier this year after Angela had spent some time in the hospital following an infection. Angela thankfully recovered but not without losing the use of her legs and potentially her ability to walk again. Due to this, Angela was spending a lot of time in bed in a rehabilitation care home, when it was then decided that she should move into a care home and receive nursing care.

Angela also suffers from Alzheimer's, sight impairment, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, and at the age of 85, Ian had been caring for his wife for the past 5 years. Whilst they coped at home for the most part, it definitely came with its challenges.

Since moving to Penrose Court, Angela's condition has improved and over time she has begun to stand and walk again with the assistance of a walking frame. To Ian and his son and daughter, this improvement was unbelievable as they thought there was little hope of Angela ever being so mobile again.

Angela has gone from strength to strength and Ian credits the care team at Penrose Court:

"With thanks to the caring nature of the staff, we now have mobility (limited), can shuffle around, and can even get in and out of the car again. So many of the staff at Penrose have a thoughtfulness, consideration, and aptitude that you cannot teach - only encourage. This not only applies to the residents but those left on the "outside", as the change is a great wrench for them as well".

At Penrose Court Care Home, we take pride in delivering person-centred care to each and every resident. We have built an environment that not only supports our residents but encourages them to thrive and continue to do the things that they have always loved to do, no matter what challenges they face. We are also delighted to support our resident's families too, as we recognise the impact that such situations have on relatives as well.

Our consistent and dedicated staff play a big part in the person-centred care we provide too, as they really take the time to get to know each of our residents for who they are; their needs, preferences, and interests. Our professional team has the clinical experience to provide unrivalled levels of nursing care and develop care plans that put residents first. We also go to great lengths to ensure no matter what care type our residents receive, all activities and events are accessible to them, meaning they can continue to do the things they love.

We are delighted to be able to support Angela and her family as well as all of our other residents in a warm and caring home that offers luxury en-suite bedrooms, private dining, and a range of other exceptional onsite facilities. If you would like more information about how the team at Penrose Court can support you and your family then we welcome you to get in touch.
