A Creative February

At Penrose Court Care Home in Biggleswade, we highly value the benefits of arts and crafts such as reducing stress levels, encouraging self-expression, and helping with cognition, and our February has been full of creative activities.

Felting Fun

We hold regular arts and crafts sessions, with each one themed to our resident's interests or dedicated to a specific art form. In one of our recent arts and crafts sessions, we incorporated our resident's love for nature and held a session on creating felt birds.

After a lot of learning and concentration, the birds came out wonderfully and the residents were delighted with their creations.

Krafty Shed

We recently visited a local group in Biggleswade, Krafty Shed where residents, staff, and volunteers gathered for an afternoon of crafting fun.

It was a calm and enjoyable afternoon where everyone had the joy of making their very own brilliant creations. Everyone, especially the residents, was so excited to see their treasure when they come out of the kiln.

Shortly after, they received their rewards from their Krafty Shed pottery session much to their delight. We would like to say a massive thank you to Joanna @kraftyshed for accommodating us.

Crafty Creations

Jackie, one of our volunteers, came in to host one of our arts and crafts sessions herself, with the theme of creating trinket boxes.

The session brought plenty of laughter and reminiscing, and those who attended were thrilled to bits with their end products, many of which have made a nice addition to our resident's luxury en-suite bedrooms.

Get in touch with our friendly team today if you would like to find out how you can get involved with our arts and crafts sessions, or if you would like further information about life at Penrose Court Care Home.
