COVID-19

After months of lockdown and the challenges that have been faced by our residents, their families and friends we are delighted to be opening our doors to visitors and welcoming new residents. While we recognise that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating and sometimes overwhelming impact on everyone’s lives, we are happy to be making these small steps back to normality.

The health of our residents, their families and our staff remains our top priority at Penrose Court Care Home. We have seen the life changing impact of COVID-19 first hand, thus it is our ongoing commitment to everyone in the Penrose Court community to do everything within our power to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Our COVID-19 Approach

In line with recent Government recommendations effective from April 2022, care homes in England no longer have restrictions as to the numbers of visits per resident though we ask that you make arrangements in advance of your visit to ensure safe visiting practices can be maintained. LFT testing is no longer mandatory, though to protect the safety and wellbeing of our residents and teams, we would appreciate your support in continuing to do so. Appropriate guidance for using PPE must be followed whilst visiting.

At any time, the COVID-19 regulations and guidance from the Government, National and Local Healthcare Agencies may change. For further information, please click here or contact the Home Manager directly.

Preventative Measures

The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is our top priority at Penrose Court Care Home. With this in mind we have added a host of new additional safety measures at our facilities to ensure that our residents may continue to live their lives as they choose with minimal inconvenience. By making just a few tweaks to our daily lives we can mitigate the risk of COVID-19 in our community.

Our specialists at Penrose Court are doing everything they can to help your loved ones remain mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy, from staying up to date with government regulations to providing advice to all residents and their loved ones.

The Penrose Court activities team is working hard to ensure that everyday offers variety with an active social life encouraged, while maintaining the highest standards of infection control. Our teams have been able to continue providing exceptional care by utilising more and more Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), screen dividers and sanitisation rooms.

Our Measures Include:

At Penrose Court, we’ve gone above and beyond to ensure that our residents and their loved ones are as protected against COVID-19 as they can be.

Screen Dividers

While outdoor meeting areas are still available, our indoor spaces have been fitted with floor to ceiling screens and intercoms, to provide an alternative safe and secure way to see your loved ones.

Social Distancing

At Penrose, social distancing is implemented in accordance with government rules and restrictions. Where possible residents and employees must keep a distance of at least 1 metres between them, in order to remain safe.

PPE

To ensure that the rate of infection is minimised, all of our team members use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks, aprons  and disposable gloves in accordance with government and local authority guidelines.

Stay in Touch

If in-person visits are not available or accessible to you, then we have a range of devices and technology that enable video and phone calls to ensure our residents can stay connected with the ones they love.

Santisation

There are various sanitisation stations and areas throughout Penrose Court where our residents and visitors are encouraged to regularly use our antibacterial gel.

Secure Premises

Penrose Court Care Home is an extremely safe and secure environment, so we take all of our COVID-19 protective measures very seriously.

Maintaining Health, Safety and Wellbeing

Keeping the residents of Penrose Court safe and healthy is our top priority. We have installed a number of extra precautions in place to reduce infection rates while ensuring that the home stays just that, a home. During this challenging time, our highly skilled team has offered a range of activities to keep our residents active and entertained.

Keeping as Connected as Possible

Staying connected to your loved ones has never been more crucial. Human connection and support are essential for our residents’ mental and physical wellbeing during these unprecedented times. That is why we offer a variety of online devices to enable our residents to video call their friends and family. Despite the difficulties we’ve faced as a result of COVID-19, we’re working together to overcome them and we will get through all of this together and become stronger because of it.
