It is important that you find a care home or nursing home that not only meets your every need but that you also feel comfortable in. Nursing Care is most appropriate for those who require a little additional support carrying out day-to-day tasks, as well as those who have higher dependence requirements in terms of both medical and personal living needs. Our home in Biggleswade provides elderly and specialist care which includes medication management and support with mobility, physical disabilities, and sensory impairment.
Our team of dedicated team Nurses provides this care on a 24-hour basis, so residents can rest assured that no matter when they need us or what for, we are always on hand to help. This combined with our bespoke Nursing Care plans means that we can ensure that residents are getting the exact care and support that is needed for them.
A Residential home provides support and personal care for older people who can live on their own most of the time but may wish to have the companionship that comes with a nursing home. It also offers the opportunity to receive just that extra level of help with day-to-day living.
With all of the care types that we offer, we take a holistic approach in ensuring that all our resident’s needs are met. Through a combination of care, facilities, and activities, residents at Penrose Court can live their lives the way that they want, with as little or as much assistance as they require.

Our team has worked hard to build a safe and supportive environment that enables all of our residents to make the most of each day. In order to best assist our residents living with dementia, our staff receive specialist training, resources, and equipment and therefore we always use the most up-to-date methods when providing care.
Our Activity Coordinators also produce a thoroughly planned programme that includes dementia-friendly activities, helping our residents to socialise, try new things and keep stimulated. Working closely with our dementia residents and their families, we can provide the very best person-centred care as well as enhance our overall approach to Dementia Care.
Respite Care is alternative to short-term care and can be helpful for both carers and those who require care. After someone has had an operation or been treated for an illness, respite may be a good option in supporting the transition out of hospital and the rehabilitation process. For carers, it is an ideal way of allowing themselves a break or some personal time, whilst knowing that the one they are caring for is being well-looked after.
The length of Respite Care is entirely dependent on how much time the resident or carer needs to get back to feeling themselves and can last from several weeks to months. During this period, residents will reap all the benefits that our more permanent residents receive, such as around-the-clock care, social activities, and high-quality facilities. Respite can also be a great opportunity for those to trial life in a care home and help decide whether it might be a good option for them in the future. A minimum stay of 3 weeks applies to our respite care package.
