Nursing Home in Bedfordshire

Penrose Court is a purpose-built nursing home located in the market town of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Offering around-the-clock Nursing, Dementia, Residential, and Respite Care for up to 65 residents, Penrose Court also prides itself on luxury accommodation and high-standard facilities.

It is important to us that we provide residents with a lifestyle full of opportunity, allowing residents to pursue interests and meet new people, but also continue to do the things they have always loved. With our care and support, residents can make the most of every day.

What is a Nursing Home?

A nursing home is very similar to what is considered a ‘care home’ but tends to be more specific in the type of care they provide. Often labelled a ‘residential nursing home’ or ‘care home with nursing’ these care facilities provide support by qualified nurses as well as care assistants and can also offer specialist care for specific health conditions and disabilities.

Just like a residential care home, a nursing home provides care and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with personal care and medication management. Nursing homes, however, also provide nursing care and are equipped to support those with more complex or debilitating needs. For instance, people who may find challenges in day-to-day life as a result of their health problems may benefit from living in a nursing home environment as there is always a registered general nurse available to provide medical care and assistance day and night.

Nursing Care at Penrose Court Care Home

At Penrose Court, our approach is person-centred care and we place a big focus on getting to know each of our residents as individuals. Prospective residents are welcome to visit our home with their families and are given the opportunity to arrange a consultation with our home manager or a member of our senior care team. We then offer our expert advice and guidance on your situation and provide help in deciding what path is best for you or your loved one.

Upon joining the Penrose Court family, one of our nurses will create a bespoke nursing care plan for each resident that encompasses their specific needs and requirements. Care plans are continually monitored and if any adaptations are identified by our teams as necessary, we will consult both residents and their loved ones prior to making any changes. We believe communication is key to providing effective care and we go above and beyond to build and maintain positive relationships with our residents and those closest to them.

Our nurses and care staff have extensive knowledge and experience in the care sector and are committed to providing residents with first-class care. As part of our person-centred care, our activities team and talented chefs also go to great lengths to understand our resident’s different interests and preferences. Meals are balanced, nutritious, and prepared with residents’ preferences and dietary requirements. Meals can also be taken in one of our dining rooms or from the comfort of their own room. When it comes to activities, our team ensures that they are varied and interesting and that residents are able to live life the way they want to. From the various care services we provide to the range of facilities and the activities we have on-site, we are proud of the warm, supportive friendly home we have at Penrose Court.
