A Wild Day Out at Woburn Safari Park

Residents at Penrose Court Care Home recently enjoyed an unforgettable adventure with a day trip to Woburn Safari Park. The outing was filled with excitement, fresh air and plenty of awe as everyone got the chance to see some of the world’s most magnificent animals up close.

As the group travelled through the safari, residents were thrilled to spot lions lounging in the sun, elephants grazing peacefully and zebra herds wandering across the open landscape. There was plenty of delighted pointing and chatter as each new animal came into view, with the giraffes being a particular favourite thanks to their gentle nature and towering height.

The drive-through areas offered a wonderful opportunity to relax while still experiencing the thrill of seeing animals in a natural and spacious environment. From monkeys climbing trees to rhinos roaming freely, there was always something new to admire. Residents enjoyed learning fascinating facts along the way, sparking conversations about past trips, family outings and favourite animals from childhood.

After the safari drive, the group spent time exploring the foot safari, taking gentle strolls through beautifully kept areas filled with smaller animals, scenic paths and peaceful spots to pause and take in the surroundings. The combination of wildlife, nature and good company made for a truly uplifting atmosphere.

The day was full of smiles, laughter and excitement, with many residents describing it as one of the best outings they have had. On the journey home, the bus was buzzing with happy conversations and stories of favourite moments, from spotting the elephants to watching the giraffes wander past the windows.
