An Auction For a Worthy Cause
On September 14th, we held an auction at Penrose Court Care Home to raise money for Make-a-Wish. The staff members and loved ones of residents all contributed to the auction by offering their time and services for various activities.
There was a wide range of services we were able to offer including the following:
- Personal Training sessions for 3 days
- Scuba diving lessons
- Pet photography sessions
- Dining experience for 6 (courtesy of our team member)
- A 4-day caravan holiday
- Golf day experience for 4 people
- Champneys hamper
- A ukelele
- A handmade painting
- And much more!
It was also the perfect opportunity for our residents to bring out their creative sides, as they have been helping us raise money by creating button angels and woolly pumpkins in their Arts & Crafts sessions for us to sell. To make the day even better, we had a few people get up and sing which meant residents could have a sing and dance with their loved ones.
From our auction alone we were able to raise an amazing total of £1144.50 for Make-A-Wish which can make a huge difference to the lives of those that need it most. Overall, the day was a complete hit and was enjoyed by all.
Through our varied activities programme, our team can plan activities based on resident preferences to ensure they fill their days with the things they enjoy most.
