Supporting our Residents with Dementia
At Penrose Court Care Home, we are proud to provide dementia care by a team of trained care professionals who have the experience and knowledge in identifying particular needs and the level of support that is required by our residents living with dementia. As well as residential and dementia care, we offer nursing care, respite care, and palliative care too. It is important to us that we provide person centred care no matter the time of day or night, and when it comes to dementia care, we utilise the most up-to-date methods which help to provide effective care. Every resident has their own room with en-suite facilities which we encourage residents to personalise with their belongings, to ensure they feel comfortable in a familiar space, and where families and friends are welcome at any time.
Our dementia care is provided in a specially designed wing of the home. From the use of space to the furnishings and lighting used, we made it a relaxing space for those with dementia. We believe a care home should be much more about meeting healthcare needs, but also ensuring all residents’ mental, physical and emotional wellbeing needs are satisfied. We encourage each and every resident and their family to make good use of the range of facilities they have access to in our home. Our in-house facilities include a private garden and cinema room, and our activities team organises an array of dementia-friendly activities within our activities programme where residents can reap the social, mental and physical benefits this provides.
We know how challenging it can be to find a care home or care service that meets your personal needs. At Penrose Court Care Home, we understand that every person we welcome here is unique and has their own interests, hobbies and wishes. That’s why our dedicated and helpful team goes above and beyond to ensure that no matter what type of care they receive, each and every resident gets the exceptional care they deserve by formulating a personalised care package, starting with an initial assessment whereby we provide expert advice and guidance in determining the best course of action for residents and their families.
