Private Garden

Sometimes, there really is nothing better than taking a turn around the garden. Our own contained and incredibly private garden is suitable for those folks who just love being outside in all weather conditions. When the days are warmer and longer, our garden is a terrific area for our residents to visit with their loved ones, take a stroll around the grounds, and enjoy the sunshine.

If you want to get closer to nature, go for a walk, or simply relax with a cup of tea (or a beverage of your choice) and some home-baked treats, our extensive, picturesque garden and grounds are the perfect spot to visit whenever you feel like it, with or without your friends and family in tow.

We’ll encourage and support all of our residents to get as involved as they want to in a range of garden projects, so whether they’re seasoned gardener or just getting started with their green thumb adventure, there’ll be plenty of room in our private garden for them to do more of what they enjoy.

Outdoor Activities

Our residents should never feel like they have to hold back, in fact, we want them all to get involved in as many outdoor activities in our garden, from planting new crops to tending to those that have already begun to blossom. All of our residents are encouraged to embrace gardening and everything that comes with it and discover what positive results can be achieved.

Our team, whether our residents are gardening experts or not, can provide plenty of assistance if needed. We love getting our residents involved with all aspects of our home, and gardening is a fantastic way for them to meet new people while also improving their sense of ownership, independence, and creativity.

Our garden is the ideal spot for getting back in touch with nature. We invite all of our residents to take a stroll through our garden and enjoy the peace, quiet, and ultimate tranquilly that they bring by relaxing on a comfy bench and reading their favourite book. They can either do this by themselves or with a loved one, whatever makes them happiest.

If you’re feeling really creative, try sketching some of the critters that have made Penrose Court their home, or snapping a few photos if the mood takes you. So many lovely animals make the garden at Penrose Court their home, you’re bound to come across a few different creatures. Private Garden FAQs

We believe that providing our residents with the chance to get outside regularly, take in the fresh air, engage in outdoor activities, and enjoy the natural world is extremely important for overall wellbeing. Being outdoors has many mental and physical benefits such as lowering stress and anxiety, improving overall mood, supporting cognitive function, and improving cardiovascular health, balance, and muscle strength.

We hold many of our activities outdoors including walking, gardening, lawn games, and chair exercises, and when the weather permits, residents can dine with family and friends, get involved in outdoor arts & crafts, and enjoy live entertainment.

In order to make our gardens accessible to all, we have included wheelchair-accessible paths and seated furniture for those who experience issues with mobility. Our private garden is also safe and secure with proper fencing and gates, to prevent residents from going beyond the garden walls. Our walking routes are well-maintained and there is also lighting and other safety features to help prevent falls or other accidents.
